Procedure-Specific Care

Different procedures require different aftercare. Here are some guidelines.

After Fillings

Wait until numbness wears off before eating. Some sensitivity is normal for a few days. Avoid very hot or cold foods initially.

After Extractions

Bite on gauze for 30-45 minutes. Avoid sucking motions, spitting, or smoking for 24-48 hours. Soft foods and rest are recommended.

After Deep Cleanings

Some gum tenderness is normal. Use warm salt water rinses and continue gentle brushing and flossing as advised.

After Crowns/Bridges

Avoid sticky or hard foods while wearing a temporary crown. Once permanent, treat it like a natural tooth with proper hygiene.
